Doreen Rosslee
Doreen Rosslee, a mother of four and grandmother to twelve, was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She grew up loving the Lord from her early years. In the early 1970s, she had a mysterious encounter with the Lord. One night, as she lay in bed, a great light shone through the ceiling, and she heard a voice speaking to her. While much of what was said is forgotten, she remembers the voice asking, “Doreen, what will you do with your life?” When she asked for guidance, the voice instructed her to kneel and surrender her life to the Lord. As she prayed, she experienced wind, thunder, lightning, and an earthquake, which ceased when she stopped praying.
This moment led Doreen into deep service to the Lord. She began with her children, who were anointed to sing and play guitars for praise and worship. They performed in churches, senior homes, marriages, and funerals. Doreen also taught in Sunday schools and scripture in primary and high schools, visited HIV-affected families and orphans, and worked in senior soup kitchens.
She shared the Word with church members in prisons, where hundreds of inmates surrendered to the Lord, with some becoming pastors or joining choirs and Bible schools. She also did hospital visitations and hosted Bible studies at her home.Currently, Doreen uses social media to share the Word. In 2012, while on a bus, she heard the Lord instruct her to prepare for a mission in a far country, like Abraham. Initially hesitant, she trusted in the Lord’s promise to provide, and a few months later, her son invited her to Canada. While there, she reconnected with Jack Rudy of Gideon International, who shared how her 1986 testimony had impacted people worldwide, leading many to surrender their lives to the Lord and receive New Testaments.
